slide out lock bars... worth the effort?

With all the slide out problem threads going on in here, would putting slide out locks at each corner of a full slide keep the slide mechanism in better working order. Anyone use these contraptions religiously and have great success? I received only one of these things but was thinking of getting 3 more for our large slide. Do they warp the walls? how do you not forget to take them off before extending the slide... what are the pros and cons of these things? TIA...

It is my understanding that the slide out bars are to be used when the motor(s) have failed and the slide has been pushed in. The bar keeps it from opening while driving.

try this experiment... when pulled in to your destination after a long drive, before you extend your slide, press the retract button in first. The slide will move in very slightly... in other words the slide will have a slight creep while driving... Im wondering if this could be prevented with the lock bars. Since I have only one bar... installed did nothing to prevent the creep, maybe 4 at each corner will help. Problem is, slides are heavy... the tightening mechanism on these bars are not the best and hand tightening is only used... you really need to torque these bars down to be effective.

I will tell you how important Winnebago thought that slide bar was. I had a Via before my Palazzo. To move it's slide you needed a key and the key was attached to the slide bar. By doing that you could not put the slide out without removing the slide bar. You could also not retract the slide without the slide bar in your hand. I have religiously used my slide bar on my 33.2 and have not had any problems with my slide.
