I just bought a Challenger and after winterizing it (water heater also under the bed) I found the inverter under the bed. This sucks for two reasons, the noise when dry camping and using the inverter for the furnace or fan, but mostly, if you trip the breaker on it you have to lift the bed and remove the cover to reset it.

I would think that you might be able to insulate it well enough to reduce the sound quite a bit. If you don't need the inverter then I would suggest keeping it off.

My Hurricane has the inverter in the same place. I don't have any problems with it.

What is an "electrical sending frequency"?
