Welcome to the forum!
Which 27 are you looking at?
ACE 27.2 28'9"
Hurricane 27B 29'3"
Windsport 27B 29'3"
All are on F53 chassis and similar length. So they will have similar handling and ride.
Maneuvering: 30' coaches are about the best class A for getting around in tight spots. Shorter the better.
Comfort: We didn't find our ACE 29.3 particularly comfortable originally. Changed sofa to overstuffed dual recliners and added memory foam topper to the bed. Cockpit chairs are good in my opinion. Have driven for 12 hours without too much discomfort.
Maintenance: Able to do all maintenance myself. Oil change, lube, wash/wax, generator maintenance, up keep repairs. Would be similar to maintaining a large pick up truck, a small one bedroom house, and a small boat (all 3 at the same time).
Overall quality: I would put Thor ACE in the "average" category, which means several minor items that will need attention if buying new.
Some things to consider before you purchase:
Are you planning to buy new or used, dealer or private seller?
What is your intended use. 2-3 day trips, 30-90 day trips, full time? Campgrounds or boon docking?
Where are you going to store it. Will there be power available there?
How many occupants and animals?
Working or retired?
Something to remember, many people find RVing very enjoyable, some don't. Anything you can do to "ease" into it will be helpful. Renting one might be worth while if you have never been on a trip before. Do you like tent camping for example?
