None of our 110V breakers are labeled correctly. The microwave is on one marked hot water heater, it doesn't even have an electric hot water heater!

schematic for the 29.2

Further, on the schematic, the fuse was listed at 20 amps, while my installed fuse in slot 6 was a 15 amp. I think someone basically miswired the box, so I'm going to check out the other fuses and compare them to the provided schematics.
If anyone would like to get that schematic file, e-mail me & I can attach it on a reply.

Can you send me the full schematic for the 29.2 ?

Hello everyone, I am in the market for either an ACE 29.2 or ACE 30.1. Would the issues you are having with the Macerator Pump sway you in the direction of the 30.1? I like both rigs, but was leaning torward the 29.2 until reading about all the waste issues it seams to be having with the Macerator pump.

Hey Neighbor (I'm in Corona).
We have a 2013 (purchased in October 2012) ACE 29.2. It came with the 20A fuse correctly installed. To date, I have encountered NO issues with the macerator system. It works very well. I actually prefer dumping with the macerator system vs dumping the "old fashioned" way because it is a completely closed system (there is a valve at the end of the dump hose). The only worry, is that someone could put something down the toilet and jam the macerator. Then the cleanup effort would literally be a sh*tty mess.
As far as floorplan preference, we went with the 29.2 because the fresh floorplan and large mega-storage.....as because of the smaller (under 30') size.

Thank you for the input. I was just in Corona at Giant RV looking at both models. I am leaning toward the 29.2 but have never used a macerator on any RV I've used(only borrowed to this point). When I started reading about the issues with it, I got a little spooked. The storage on the 29.2 is awesome.

Giant RV in Corona is where we picked up our unit. Our previous unit (weekend warrior 5th wheel) is still sitting on the lot for sale.
The only real issue we have with dumping, is that the grey water tank doesn't drain very well unless the coach is level, or slightly high on the drivers side.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Could not agree more, macerator is the only way to go IMO. Had a macerator on our TT and had zero issues with it. So far we have had zero issues with our macerator on our ACE. IF our ACE came without a macerator, I would add one.

I think the two biggest issues with the macerator have been related to either the wrong fuse (15A vs 20A) put in at the factory, or manufacturing debris left in the tank jamming the macerator unit.
The fuse issue is fairly easy to resolve. Just make sure the coach has a 20amp fuse installed from the factory.
As a precautionary measure, do the first couple of dumps manually from the compartment on the passenger side of the coach. Any manufacturing debris left in the tank will bypass the macerator system.

DegoRed and mfolland, thank you both very much for the quick responses. I'll check the fuse for sure and follow your advise on dumping from the passenger side for the first few dumps to make sure everything is cleaned out.

we spent the weekend at Camping World in Albuquerque...I called Thor earlier in the week and explained the issue we were having with the macerator...Thor over nighted a new macerator to CW (we were heading west and didn't want to back track...pulled into CW Friday afternoon...were given a spot with electric and water...Saturday the macerator was replaced..tech said he found a screw inside the dump hose which probably hit the macerator blades and froze...because of wind we stayed until sunday...very nice place to be!

three nights in Vegas, pumped out before leaving this morning and discovered the black hose connecting the black tank to the macerator is leaking.....CW in Alburquerque didn't have the four inch slinky so they improvised and cut a three in hose...at least it was black...thinking about just avoiding the macerator and use the gravity drain...

Personally, I love my macerator. I would only use the gravity dump if absolutely necessary. No mess or cleanup with the macerator.

I agree!! We haven't had any issues with ours yet, if we do I'll just fix the problem and keep using it.
