Thor ACE Passenger Seat Relocation

I've been trying to figure out a way to relocate the passenger seat in my ACE 29.2 to be able to swivel it completely around to face the TV/living area. The mount seems really solid where it is, i'm wondering if I can add a steal plate offset to the swivel base to move the seat forward a few inches. Currently there is no way to get the seat completely around. I saw that someone had spoke of moving the couch over a few inches but i'm not sure that would be enough to clear the chair. Has anyone attempted this? This chair is virtually unusable when in the parked arrangement and that is frustrating. Thanks.

Harlee,
I have a Thor Challenger so there may be a difference from your Ace, but that seat should swivel. I can swivel both the driver and passenger seat. In my Challenger I have to slide the seat in the forward position, put the seat back forward and the arm rest up. In that configuration it will swivel around. If your seat will not do that I suggest you either call Thor and talk to a tech or take it back to the dealer before you change the mount on the seat.

Known issue on the A.C.E., passenger seat doesn't have the clearance to swivel completely. Would need to unbolt and move the bracket ahead a couple inches. You would think they would have caught that when the coach was engineered. Thor fail!

I have not looked that closely at moving the seat, would need to look underneath to see what, if anything is in the way down there. And when you do move it ahead, can you adjust the seat all the way back to the current position it's in now? Would need to look at it closer. Probably be a combination of moving the passenger seat forward 1.5", and the sofa back 1". Is it worth it, I don't know.

The seat has 4 bolts connecting it to the sliding seat swivel, just wondering if an offset steal plate with 8 holes would work. For us having that seat turn all the way around would really be nice for tv viewing. There is plenty of Room in front of the seat.

Same here. The 29.2 should have been a 29.8 and all that room used between the front seats and the couch and slide!

I moved the bench over 2 in. That way the seat will turn like the driver's . And the seat belt will not cut into the bench anymore.

AceJim, is there any legroom below the seat when rotated or is it still very close? A picture would help if possible. But if this allows the seat to completely rotate, i'll start with this and see if it solves the issue. thanks for your help.

I'll send a pic in next day or two. I'm going over there where I keep it to start getting it ready.

I am also very interested to see what it looks like when the couch is moved.

Unhappy They said it swiveled!

I'd also be interested. My husband and I just bought our 2013 29.2 a week ago and were very frustrated that the passenger seat didn't swivel all the way around per ALL the literature we were given. When you say "moved" your bench, would that be drilling new holes, new plates, etc etc,? I don't think we want to tackle a project. Guess we will have to live with it.

Thanks!

Hi! Did you ever get pics of your modified couch/passenger seat arrangement? I'm also frustrated by the fact that the passenger seat doesn't swivel. Curious as to your solution

The challenger is completely different, lots more room than the Ace .
Whoever moved the couch over will have problems getting in the coach and the boot cupboard below, he never sent a picture. Moving the passenger seat forward will affect the room for passenger. Sometimes you just have to give up!
