Thor Battery Control Center Failure Recall

Has anyone tried to get the recall work done for the recall on the BCC? I recall a post from a year or so ago where an ACE owner had lost all power to the coach and chassis.

Does anybody know what BCC model number (s) that are effected by the recall?

My 2006 Hurricane had a similar problem, but the Hurricane recall starts at model year 2007.

Here is my thread from May 2012.

Call THOR with your VIN# and they will tell you if your coach is in the recall. They emailed me the customer recall notice that I will eventually receive (?). Have an appointment to get ours taken care of next week.

Cenfla, I see you have a ford chassis. I wander if the recall is only for the ford chassis's?

Get us some more information while your getting yours fixed, thank you.

after just seeing this note , I went out to see what model board I have , and I noticed that the solenoid is running really hot. is this an indication of a problem. it looks to me like the solenoid is a standard one and not one rating for continueos use.

No I haveN't gotteN a recall Notice at all. The model number of my baTTery box is FW 2050. The number on The board is FW 221. I talked to Thor a little while ago and they said I had to call the company that makes the box Rv custom, and they said I had to call Thor. Its the same as usual just one of theIr bIg run arounds. I guess it will take a lot of phone calls to resolve this problem if it ever gets resolved.

I have a 2013 ACE - called Thor at the number listed above with VIN# to see if mine was included in the recall. Yes it is. Asked when letters would be sent out. Explained that the ACE is at the dealership having some other work done and would like to have recall done while it is there. Thor representative emailed recall letter to me within 10 minutes. I called the dealership and it is scheduled to be done, although they said they hadn't heard about the recall. No complaints so far!! Keeping fingers crossed!!

BillyB,

I have same BCC on my 2006 Hurricane Workhorse chassis. Did you read my post above # 2 about what I went through in May 2012?

This could be the same issue. I recommend you download the schematic and troubleshooting guide from that post. Just to have it on hand just in case.

Thor sent me the recall instructions today. All they are doing is bypassing the Chassis Battery Disconnect so after the recall is done you will not be able to shut off the chassis battery using the switch. The recall just moves one wire on the BCC under the hood. The instructions are attached.

So the BCC is still defective and the "fix" is to bypass it with partial loss of it's intended function. THANKS THOR!!!

But what I read is that if you're Bored is a revised B Bored, then it has a relay in there that will alleviate that problem, I hope that is right

I just received a response from Thor. They emailed me and said that My 2006 Hurricane is included in the recall and sent me a letter.

I just saw the the post from Towertime and the fix. So it looks like Workhorse Chassis's and Ford chassis with the FW-2050 BCC is effected.

I fixed mine a year ago by putting a jumper between the two terminals. (See Post# 2) I have the FW-2050 and FW-221 Rev B circuit board.

BillyB- The FW-221 Rev B circuit board is included in this recall.
