Thor Challenger 37KT

I really like the floor plan and features of this MH and so want to find out if anyone has one. If you do, what have been your experiences with it, good and bad. I had been looking at a Forest River MH and it had horrible reviews so don't think I want to go with them. Thor has always had a good name from everything I read so far.

Thanks,
Dawn

One thing to watch out for is the "Ultra Leather" vinyl seats. At the first sign of any cracking or deterioration get the covers replaced. Some Challenger owners waited till the deterioration got worse and they were a month or two beyond the 12 month warranty and Thor wouldn't give them the time of day. So when the 12 months are up don't bother calling Thor about warranty goodwill issue.

This floorplan is one of our favorites. I've found that an 2008 Newmar 3750 model has a very simular floorplan that is offered in a gas or FRED drivetrain. While Thor is okay, I'll choose a Newmar any day over a Thor.

I have a 2012 Challenger 37 Dt that I took delivery in Dec 2011. My maden trip was to florida in Feb. The dinette slide was making a racket while driving. It's been at the dealer off and on since March 28 trying to figure out what the problem is. I just got a call from the dealer saying that the slide has to be removed and the slide frame and other componets have to be replaced. I have a 5 day trip planned for memorial day weekend, it better be done.

Thanks Gus. I am hoping not to have any major problems when I do buy one. Went to look at the 37KT earlier this week. Like it even more in person.

Thor Challenger 37KT

We have this coach. Purchase this past January at the Tampa RV show. Picked up in February. We purchased because of the floor plan. We really love the 3 room seperation. Make us very happy campers . We have had no problems at all with the coach it self. Only problem we had was it got broken into at the storage lot we keep it. Minor damage only.

Sorry I can't speak to the Challenger, but I did get a 2012 Thor Hurricane 32A (my first MH) back in March. Concerning Thor, I have found my coach as expect as what I would consider entry level. I believe that their ideas and plans are well considered, but the quality say entry... at least on mine. Mine went back to the dealer for an intermittent side view camera, a couch end cap that had been tightened too tight to the point of cracking, and a problem outside storage lock. It's back and my first maiden voyage is the Memorial Day weekend. As someone who has driven MHs for others for years (Prevost, Signature, etc), I will say that I am satisfied with mine.

Thanks. Glad to hear no problems. I will be purchasing as soon as I can sell B&S. I really like the 3 separate room feel too. My Mom will be traveling with me, so I like that she can have private bedroom area too at night.

Thor has a history of buying up manufacturers and then turning their production around to being run by accountants and no engineers. The name no longer has the quality of the original product.

Thanks Ken. I have heard both good and bad about Thor products. It seems that every manufacturer has problems anymore. Before I buy, I am going to take a good friend with me to check out the coach. He has a lot of experience with different RV's so I think he would be able to spot any potential problems.
