Hi,
We are looking at buying a 2012 Thor Daybreak 28pd and wondered if anyone out there owns one and can tell us what their mileage is. Salesman is saying 6-8. At 8 I would be interested at 6 not so much.

in this case the salesman is pretty close. 7 over all seems pretty common especially on a Ford chassis

I think that is probably pretty accurate. My 2012 Thor ACE is about the same size (maybe a little lighter), also has the V-10. I averaged about 7.5 from Dallas to Savannah @ 65-70 mph. I would expect a little less if it was in an area with a lot of hills. I'm surprised the salesman told you that. It seems the normally say 8-10.

depends on how you drive and where you drive and if towing a toad... On flat roads and driving 55 to 60 maybe 8 and if in the mountains 6 and if towing who knows LOL!!!! we don't buy these to get good mileage its a big 20,000 pound brick going down the road but it sure is nice to sleep in your own bed at night and have all the conveniences of home with you

I have an 06 and average 7-8. Usually drive 65 and I don't tow.

Thank you for for responding, really appreciate it. From Colorado to Ohio we averaged 9 in a BT Cruiser which as the same Ford V10.

I had an '08 32' Windsport and now have a '12 35' Thor Daybreak. I drive about 60-65mph, run the generator most of the time so the kids and watch TV and run the house A/C's, and we always tow a Jeep Commander behind (so an extra 5k lbs). Both MH's have the Ford chassis and V10 engine. From my experience I've averaged 5-6.5 mph. Even not towing and not runny the gnerator and driving on flat land, I've never sniffed 8mp. If you buy one of these things you need to plan on a worst case senario otherwise you're going to be dissappointed. It's just the nature of the beast. I would say do not plan on seeing 8mpg regardless. That said, it shouldn't be that big of a deterant. Buy one and enjoy it for what it is. 2mpg shouldn't be a deal breaker.
