Thor Motor Coach Recalls Some 2015 Units

Monday, December 15, 2014
Thor Motor Coach recalled some 2015 motorhomes due to awnings whose mounting brackets may crack, causing the awnings to fall, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall affects up to 215 units, including the Four Winds 5000, Hurricane, Miramar, Chateau Citation, Chateau, Four Winds Siesta, Windsport and Freedom Elite motorhomes made between Aug. 7 and Oct. 17.
Thor has notified owners, and dealers will replace the defective mounting brackets, free of charge. The recall began on Nov. 10. Owners may contact Thor customer service at 877-855-2867. Thor’s number for this recall is RC000095.
Maybe not directly related, but one end if our 2014 ACE's awning bracket was flexing away from the RV's side upon retraction - CW refastened - so far as is well.

I have an effected unit on this awning recall. The bracket completely broke off the side of the wall. If you have a unit in the date range specified, that bracket will fail. Just a heads up.

Been a while and a lot has changed.
Have had my 2015 Hurricane 34F awning recall done. Heard that right. Traded our 2014 ACE 29.2, which we enjoyed immensely, for a little more room. We are residing in our motorhome.
Very similar to the ACE, the Hurricane is not problem free, but we still enjoy it as much or a little more than the ACE. Right now we are waiting for a headlight bezel and the extremely large slide awning.
Have also moved from Fallon to Pahrump. When passing through the Las Vegas area and are ready for a pause, detour to Pahrump and look for The Nevada Treasures RV Resort on the north end off HWY 160. I think it is a treasure.
Be safe and continue enjoying life, always looking a those "ble skies and sunshine".
