2011 ACE 29.2 on 16k chassis. Loved the floor plan and many of the features, but it was an entry level coach that did have some issues.
The OCC was just slightly over 1k lbs, so after filling water, fridge some clothes, the wife and two dogs we were over weight.
Didn't handle cross winds very well, but the CHF and track bars took care of that issue.
Gen set located behind front drivers wheel that would shut down when running it while underway during the summer. There was a plastic 110v junction box directly above the gen set that melted from the heat and caused a short and gen set shut down. Replaced with metal and no more problems.
Orange level jack hydraulic line blew out while underway allowed a front jack to lower after we stopped and wouldn't retract until after we replaced the line and bled system. It was 110F that day and the gen set refused to start for a while so no coach A/C. Replaced all hydraulic lines due to all of them weeping fluid and bulging.
Front drop down bed actuators that pulled from their mounts on the front cap allowing bunk to drop drop down suddenly while driving. Caused quite a head ache for the wife when it struck her. That was a fun repair. Thor offered to repair, but dealer was over three months back logged on repairs. Not Thor's fault on delay.
We did like the coach really and used it for over 4 years with lots of short camping trips.

Happy with ours and find that Thor gives more bang for the buck and better floor plans.

We Like Our THOR Palazzo

We are very satisfied with our THOR 2015 (33.3) Palazzo. Just completed out 25th trip and over 25,000 miles with no significant issues. Several minor issues that I've addressed myself but for the money we are very happy. Ditto what others have said about all makes have some issues. Our Freightliner chassis/Cummins engine/Allison transmission seems bullet proof. The coach box had several minor build quality issues but nothing requiring a drive to a service center or warranty work. THOR technical service has been very helpful.

Good-- Bad-- Ugly

Owned a 2013 42ft THOR Tuscany, Diesel push-- was Good w/ typical RV problems easily taken care of! Decided to downgrade size etc (Aug. 2017)-- Due to Good experience w/ THOR Tuscany -- asked for a THOR product! Traded in/ BOUGHT a "Miramar" 35.2 ft., gas by THOR--(Very good Cabin plan). Since purchase in August (3 months ago)= Bad=Over 40 items of poor cabin/ tank/ leaks -etc. item construction, within 1st 2 weeks. Trip of horror.
The engine & generator functioning Good. Good= WARRANTY. Bad= THOR not quickly responsive on shipping? BAD/ Ugly= Awning (one end)ripped Off side of RV at 3 weeks old- ( Very minor wind)- beautiful day. Metal missing my Head by 12 inches! Question: Has anyone ever had one attachment of Awning rip off RV (holes left in RV) w/ no lower-wind/ a very minor gust
?? THOR not willing to stand behind this "Dangerous" situation?? Very Disappointed/ upset/ w/ traumatic syndrome to sit again under this type of awning! I Welcome ANY information from anyone--- we LOVE RVing since 1980s (8th RV)--

2017 Thor ACE 29.3. Like it, our first class A type MH. Only issue's have been with the leveling jacks and slide out. All fixed pretty quick and don't seem to return after the fix. It's on a Ford F53 gas chassis. Not sure I would ever own a diesel because of the cost and maintenance.

LOVE LOVE LOVE our 2014 Thor Palazzo 36.1! This is our first class A. Purchased used from Lazy Days in Colorado. Took is on a 5,000+ mile trip with 6 adults and one 2 yr old and all were comfy, and the trip was across the west, up mountains and all! We had no problems and had plenty of power to pull the hills! We have only had to replace ceiling lights as they go out. And one dash switch so far. We take it out once a month as a mimimum! My husband and I really enjoy the comfort of it!

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) was created in 2010 by merging Damon, FourWinds, and Mandalay Luxury Coach.

TMC makes lines from the small "RUV" (Axis and Vegas) to the luxury Tuscany Diesel Pusher...and many lines in between. This line-up includes the best selling Class A in North America for the last 3 years, the A.C.E..

There are almost duplicate offerings by other makers for most all TMC models lines, so everyone should shop around, but other brands really cannot compete with TMC's price point because of the business model TMC follows. This is:
*Debt free production - every unit is pre-sold to a dealership.
*No custom orders - most all optional item included - with a wide variety of floor plans.
*Highest economy of scale due to the size of Thor Industries to buy parts at the lowest price point.

We love our Thor motorhome.

Best luck

We have a 2017 Challenger 37LX and we love it so far.

Got it in June, been on several trips, including a hurricane evacuation to AL. A few minor PITA issues that I have fixed myself, (disconnected wires to USB dash port, 12v plug in dash disconnected, I just plugged in wires, good to go) a few cosmetic issues, the major one being some warped cabinet doors that our dealer can't seem to get the right size delivered. Major lack of communication at the dealership..

Most of our frustration is with the dealer (General RV), who at this point, I have ZERO confidence in doing any service work. I have them order the parts, replace them myself and return the defective parts to them.

That said, I would still recommend a Thor at this point as long as you find a floor plan you like..Just do a little research on the dealer.

Realizing that there well may have been a lot of corrections to quality control and equipment issues in the past three years as I'm reading above post about happy campers, but for me, the Thor Daybreak (previously known as Damon) full wall slide, was the worst RV mistake I've ever made. Best I say no more other than I would not recommend.

Quality

While at dealership buying my current rig used, just went looking through a new Thor Palazzo on the show room floor. Very pretty rig but walked back to the back and noticed the edge of the bathroom door frame already broken off which exposed thickness of walls. Basically the quarterroud edge was just glued on fiberboard and the Wall was 1\8 inch fiberboard. When I pushed in areas across the wall, very little support. I know maybe most new rigs are using this stuff but for hundreds of thousands of dollars u would think they could use something better than fancy cardboard. Try it, u will see what I mean.
