Thor vs Ford warranty
Due to my lack of orientation information from the original dealer, I took my Winsport 34F to a Ford Truck center for service. A windshield washer problem was diagnosed as a bad pump. I was charged $129.00 and the pump was not replaced under Ford warranty since it had a Thor part number.
Thor has refused to reimburse me the $129.00 but will send a pump to a Thor dealer.
New owners beware!

I think you mean "New Owners understand who's responsible for what." You should always probably start with the RV dealer/manufacturer until they tell you it's somebody else's concern.

Whenever an RV is under warranty, it's best to return it to the dealer you purchased from, an authorized mfr's service dealer or the factory for warranty service.

I had a two month old Thor. The dealer where I bought the unit did not work on tires so I took it to a Ford shop to fix the valve stems. During their check-up they added fluid for the wipers and the pump blew a fuse. Thor installed a number of pumps that were bad in the 15 models. Thor would not pay for the reapir of the stems, pump, fuse or the labor repair for any of it. I had to pay it all. Sorry, but you're on your own.

Thor would not have to pay $129 for that repair through their authorized dealer network .
The labor and part would be much less and they also want to know from Dealers they trust that the repair was necessary.

I agree that it can be a little confusing about warranty coverage for the rv industry, versus your typical personal vehicle. While it may seem reasonable that Ford built the chassis, and therefore installed the wipers and wiper motors, actually the rv manufacturer installs those on many RVs.
Thor has no relationship with a personal vehicle Ford dealer, or service shop, and therefore doesn't have a warranty repair cost agreement with them, which most of the time requires a call to THOR prior to warranty repairs being made.

I agree that you should bring your RV back to original dealer, but when your on a trip, that's not always possible. I guess you call Thor with the problem and be advised.
Lesson learned owning a new Motorhome.

That's a tough one. I'd think that the pump would be part of the chassis too.
Thor - willing to get sideways with their customer over $129.... Way to go.

That same pump went out in our ACE so I replaced it with one from Autozone. $21. and about ten minutes instead of a 100 mile ride to the dealer where we bought it. No brainer for me. Jim.

That's why Thor doesn't want to pay $129.

If Thor had someone with a brain in their customer service office, they would have reimbursed the OP with at least their cost of the part. Sometimes I wonder why the public relations, advertising folks don't get together with customer service and see how it would help the business and bottom line in the long run.

It is even more confusing when you have an RV like mine. Being on an F550 chassis, there are tons of Ford warrantied items that are not covered by Thor. I've had to take mine to the Ford dealership for a few items. Lucky me though, the RV dealership is over an hour one way, the dealership is about 2 miles from my house.
And then you get into what part was modified. On mine, the 33SW has the stock Ford driveshaft and is covered by Ford. In the 35s, it is aftermarket so covered by Thor. And that's one of the problems the 33SWs have is the driveshaft, they were installed incorrectly at the Ford factory.
Fun stuff.
