Thor Warranty
We are full timers, currently in an ACE 29.1 which we bought from Camping World. We have had no problems getting warranty work done at any CW around the country. We are now considering moving up to a Palazzo 33.2 which I might buy from Motor Home Specialists in Alvarado TX. They are a "one location" dealer. Does anyone have experience of getting warranty service at dealers other than the one where the MH was purchased?
Also a quick question for 33.2 owners: Can the fridge be opened with the slide closed? I was in a 33.1 recently and the dinette completely blocked the fridge door with the slide closed. The 33.2 floorplan looks ok, just wanted to be sure.

Call Thor support and ask them. The impression I got was any Thor dealer will do warranty work.
BTW, on my 33.1 refrigerator access is limited but workable with the slide in and freezer is fully accessible. With appropriate placement of contents we consider it a non issue.

Warranty is a huge part of a dealers income. I don 't see why they wouldn't service you unless you bought it from another local dealer. ( EEK )

I bought my Outlaw at a one location dealer in Rhode Island and the Lakewood NJ CW was great servicing it. Never an issue what so ever

We are F/T. Cant go 2500 miles for warrany work!
Warrany authorized dealers make VERY good money on warranty work, no matter where.
However, knowing who does good work is a must. Have not needed work away from home state yet, but if I do I will google "reviews XXXXX RV service" or something like that.

Well, if I bought it from another local dealer that's where I'd take it for service. I'm more concerned about the warranty work when I'm 2,500 miles from the dealer I bought it from. Sounds like a non issue though. I hadn't considered that dealers make a lot of money doing warranty work.

On the 33.2 the frig opens toward the bathroom door. With slide closed both fridge & bathroom doors open maybe 3/4. U can access everything in frig except the lower left slid drawer. Very workable. Bathroom workable too. I've heard some complaints on this but don't understand why. Ours works quite well with slides closed.

Re: Warranty Work
For our ACE 30.1, Thor told us that any Thor dealer is approved for warranty work and for the one time we used a dealer other than where we purchased the unit, it was no problem. Thor also told us that even a non-Thor RV dealer could be pre-approved for warranty work if getting to a Thor dealer would be too difficult. I've never tried it, but it sounds like Thor has a warranty work price schedule and any non-Thor dealer would have to agree to do the work at that rate. Or something like that.

Just spoke to Thor on Monday about taking my ACE to a non-Thor dealer. Thor said no problem, the non-Thor repair facility needs to submit the work order for approval prior to doing the work. In my case all the CW's in our are are clowns, and no way were they going to work on my rig. The non-Thor repair shop seemed to be familar with this process and it was no big deal for them.
Good Luck!
