Thor warranty work to be done.

Hey all. We are going to be at the Thor Service Center in Elkhart starting the 23rd of June. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience at the service center and what we can expect?

Thanks

Expect that they will do a great job, because they will! Seriously, these guys are as good as Thor's factory quality control is, well ... less-than-perfect, shall we say. Your job is to have a very complete list of problems and concerns ready for them when you check in. If you have added a few more items since you set up the appointment, they will probably be able to take care of those too, unless it's something really major, because they use your original list to schedule shop time and order parts. They will also check for some common issues that you may not even be aware of, and fix those too.

I've never stayed in the coach during my factory visits, but others can address how that works. There are plug-ins in the service center parking lot, and as I understand in, you can stay in your coach outside of working hours, but be ready to get up early, because they start by 7:30 or so. (We've either left our coach there and picked it up the next week, or stayed in a motel.)

Good luck, and enjoy Elkhart!

Recent Elkhart Visit

We were at the factory service center last week. Yes, they start early. First day you go in to check in and then they send out a tech. Check in at 7, Tech is usually at your coach by 7:10. Dump and have full fresh water when you show up. There is fresh water and a dump beside the building. Your tech will bring the coach out about 3 and hook it up for you. If you don't need paint of some other reason to be out overnight you can work the stay in the coach. If they need to keep it overnight they will arrange for a hotel. You need to tow or rent a car. Waiting room can be brutal and small. There is a lot to see in the area. Amish area is quite interesting. RV hall of fame is a good stop. You will probably find Mayberrys for breakfast. We stayed all week, leaving after noon on Friday. It was very tiring to get up early and find something to do with your time. Also meet all kinds of folks, some with similar problems as you. Techs are very good and try to accommodate your needs.

While on a treck and going thru Indiana from California I showed up @ Thor for repairs without advance notice. They were polite and referred me to Total RV (Damon/Thor Dealer) about 5 miles away for windshield repair.
BIG MISTAKE! Their estimated 3 days took a week, they used too much sealant glue and windshield shifted down out of position over a thousand miles away and the replacement windshield wipers blew off because they could not lock on the J hook.
After I returned to my home base, Thor made arrangement for resetting the windshield properly and picked up the cost.

What does this have to do with OP's question? You continuously bash Total Value RV even on unrelated threads.

Warranty Work

How was your experience at the Service Center? Did they take care of all your items to your satisfaction?
