Hey Group,
What does everyone use for Tool Boxes on your coach?? and how many tools do you bring along on a trip?

I supposed it matters on how long you are gone for but since I just bought a new Class C

I thought I would come in here and ask.

Here is a picture of what I use (or at least its very similar)

In my current bag I have it very full of an assorted hand tools but what I am now thinking about bringing along is the following:

*Cordless Drill motor
*Good size hammer
*Rivet gun
*3/8 drive ratchet set

Since I am going to keep my Class C at home I'm going to just keep all of those tools in there. Am I forgetting anything???

James, Check the material in the box you want to carry the tools (or anything dense) for the material. Our big box has seemed to weakened at the bottom center. If yours isn't the plastic material, you may want to add a piece of plywood cut to fit the entire bottom. I probably was carrying too much in one spot, then the constant pounding in one spot. As soon as we complete this trip, I will probably pull everything out of the box unless we are trippin.

A lot depends on what your capable/willing to repair while on the road. Some tools to consider are : digital meter , clamp on ampmeter, pry bar, breaker bar and socket to fit wheel nuts, torx and or inverted hex sockets if your rig has those fasteners ,large channel lock pliers , socket/screw driver bits for your drill. The list goes on.
Don't forget to also have a box containing screws,washers,nuts, bolts, electrical tape, wire, various hose clamps, wire ,fuel hose,crimp connectors,etc.

I like zipper top canvas tool bags. Each bag is a bit different looking and holds a family of tools. One bag each; woodworking, wrenches, power tools, drill and accessories and one for misc. They stack and stay where I put them in storage. With visual differences it is easy to grab the right bag for the job at hand.

I have a Craftsman 3 drawer tool box in the storage bay filled with an assortment of tools, tape, zip ties etc. as well as a mechanics socket set. I have a lot of tools I probably don’t need but we’re always taking quads and Jeeps out so you increase the chances of things going wrong and needing a fix. Inside the coach I have an ammo box containing things i might need inside such as screwdrivers, adjustable wrench, pliers, battery operated drill/driver. Basic home repair stuff so I don’t have to go outside to storage if something needs fixing inside.

I've got way too many! I have 5 torque wrenches in the MH, most of my old Craftsman tools as well as a 307 piece cheapie set from Harbor Freight. I also have an ammo box of tools for inside and another cased tool set in the CR-V.
