Wax

I have the 2013 ACE and notice that the area above the windshield fades quite a bit. Any suggestions on wax and cleaner to keep the coach looking good. It is housed outside and we live in Southern Cal

I too keep my RV outdoors in the SoCal sun! I have owned several RVs and fiberglass boats. They all needed regular cleaning and polishing to prevent oxidation.

Just increase the interval between waxing. Any good wax or polish with UV protection will work, (have used Protect All, Meguires, 3M, and th old standard Star-Brite). Just apply at least four times a year, (regardless of brand/type/application method).

Any less often, and it will discolor and oxidize.

We're in CA too but in Kern Co. & noticed same thing over the WS area - very faded on our '14 ACE & yet that end of the MH faces north, opposite of the direct sun. More direct sun on sides & rear but no noticeable fading/oxidation.

Wondering if there's a relationship btw. the process of forming the curvature of the FG & the very noticeable fading confined to that area.
Guess it's wax time either way - hope the finish is recoverable.

You can easily recover the shiny mirror finish. However, the color will be a little lighter once oxidation has set in.

Update...

Today I discovered the joy of a $17, (Harbor Freight 20% off coupon), 6" electric orbital polisher!

Apparently, if very carefully applied, the color does come back!

I located some oxidation going on on the top of my rear endcap, (thanks to this thread, I purposely went hunting). After cautiously using my new toy with some ProtectAll oxidation remover & color restorer, Thor's HD-MAX gelcote recovers very nicely!

These folks have a good lineup of products. I use them on my 99 Motor Home and they work very well.
