Wheel Cover Removal
I have owned vehicles for years and never thought I would have to ask this question... how do you remove the wheel cover off of a 2013 Thor Hurricane 29X? The chrome wheel nuts on the front of the wheel cover appear to be fake as they do not turn. I have put tools between the wheel cover and rim and pried with no success. I do not want to pry too hard and bend the wheel cover. There is no reference to the wheel covers in any of the owners manuals and I have not found a thread on this site covering the subject. Any help will be appreciated.
Than you, Wade

Look very closely at those chrome nuts. You will have 2, perhaps 3 that do unscrew exposing the real nuts that hold the cover on.

I too share your frustration. Whoever installed the covers, hid the valve stem so I was really stuck. Went to youtube and found a lot of instructional videos. Possibly, just look for your model, design.

Usually the nuts that hold the wheel cover on are marked with dimples on them. My rear ones are the ones that hold the filler valve extensions.

The chrome covers on the two or three nuts that unscrew actually pull off, not unscrew. I use a 'lug nut cover puller' which are vinyl covered pliers, like these: Truck Lorry Wheel Nut Cover Trims Cap Lug Pullers Pliers Tool Heavy Duty HGV | eBay
You can get them directly from Dicor instead of the UK.
Under those lug nut covers you'll find a half thickness nut that (in my case) is 1/8" larger diameter than the actual lug nuts. Take those off and the cover will fall off.

On my hurricane on each wheel cover two of the nuts are real. They are identified with notches on the face of the nut. Unscrew them and the wheel cover pops off.

My wheel covers have two nuts on the front that have square dimples at the base of the nut that you unscrew. The rears have three that you unscrew. These are the only nuts you remove to take off the wheel covers(simulators). The rest are riveted to the wheel covers and do not come off. Once you remove the simulators you can access the real lug nuts that hold the steel wheel to the axle.

I didn't see it on your notes, but my 29x came with a wrench that fits over the chrome caps to remove them. If you have one and tried it, then I apologize. hope you were able to get them off. safe travels

Thank you for replying. I do have a wrench and was able to remove the wheel cover with the information from previous posts. It amazes me there is nothing in the Hurricane manuals that I received that mentions removal. I dropped a Pressure Pro transmitter into the wheel cover and needed to remove it. Thanks again, Wade

I've done that with my TST sensors, but have been able to get them to fall out the back side by pushing them to one of the openings
