i was just greasing the fittings on the front end and happened to look up at the area above the wheels and they have a steel panel over the whole front wheel. i have read about rvers having blowouts and the parts of the tire taking out wiring and hoses etc., because of no protection there. my old unit didn't have anything protecting the wires an hoses, so it is one kudo for windsport.

My 06 windsport does not have such guards in place. The HWH jack controller is fully exposed to the the wheelwell. One blowout and it's all over. In fact, this Windsport is the worse piece of junk I have ever owned. The factory did a terrible job. My list of complaints exceeds my typing capacity. Don't ever buy a Four Winds motorhome.

thats a shame you had so many problems. our 08 has been well constructed, and has been pretty good. we were parked next to an winny adventurer , and their unit had the hwh box mounted in the same kinda of area like yours. our unit has a different jack system and its enclosed in a side compartment. My biggest gripe with FW is we paid 1k extra for solid surface counter tops and they changed the mounting of the kitchen sink to above thje counter, which changed the complete solid surface look. when asking them why, all they said was they have the right to make changes, and this was after we had already paid for it, thats not right.
