Winny Journey Owner Look at 2012 Tuscany
I currently own a 07 Journey and I'm doing a comparison with the Tuscany. Any feedback on quality, ride, noise levels, mpg etc would really be appreciated. Pricing seems more reasonable than Winnebago. Is there a reason?

Looked at a new tuscany couple days ago. Really poor quality control. The shower surround I would be embarrassed to show anyone. Looked like a kid did the caulking and the same for the outside compartments. I think I expect too much. The thor serrano we have is even worse.
The tuscany was so bad a ride was not even considered.

Interesting. The quality on our Tuscany is MUCH better than on the Serrano we traded in. Our punch list was surprisingly small and Thor has been great about tackling everything we asked. I currently have one little issue with a trim piece, and that's it. Ride down the highway is very good, although I've not had time yet to have the alignment checked. Mileage varies. The computer said 10MPG when we picked it up, but I'm getting 8.5 to 9. Remember, I live at altitude and tend to drive it at about 70 on interstates. We are exceedingly happy with ours. The alternative was a Journey, but I liked the Tuscany layout a little better (XTE model).

It might just be my karma. Your mileage is great ; I hope you have many great s-miles and trouble free travels. The tuscany we looked at did have great eye appeal.

I certainly don't mean in anyway to be offensive to anyone owning a Thor product. I have researched many mid priced class A's before buying. Looked very hard at the Tuscany, almost bought because my friends just bought the 42. I found the floor plan to be great in the Tuscany, however many items were left out or avoided to lower the price point. Our friends had to add many after market extras to meet their needs. iMHO look at many coaches within your budget, compare and live with the floor plan that best serves your needs. Of course I am not engaging in the technical side as to weight vs torque and of course many preferred options that many of us agree to disagree upon. You will know, when you step into the right coach. If used pay a competent tech to go over the coach. Money in this endeavor will never be lost!

Thanks everyone for the info. I guess I just got the itch and you know when that happens you have to scratch it. My wife and I decided to keep our Journey. It only has 14k miles and to replace it with a tag axle with the same amenities we'd be looking at over $250K. We sure do like some of the new floor plans but when it comes down to it, we are not full timers and we really have a nice coach with lots of years left in it.
