Winterizing ACE 29.2

I Winterized my ACE 29.2 today. I took some pics to show what I added to make it quick & easy. I took out the plug that was in the line and added a boiler drain and hose, the hose sticks in the antifreeze gallon and the pump sucks it through. Make sure you drain the hot water tank and turn the bypass valves first!

Very good. I made up a similar rig. So that I could quickly blow out my system, I drilled a hole in the plug and siliconed a bike valve stem in it from the inside. I wonder how many people blow out and also add antifreeze.

It is a mistake to allow any mechanical object to realize that you are in a hurry.

I don't see why it would need blown out if you're putting antifreeze in?

If you blow all the water out of the lines and drain and bypass the water heater, then you only need to put antifreeze in the sink/shower traps and a little in the bottom of each tank. I used to winterize my coach with this method before we went full time. I only used about a quart of antifreeze each season.

This is what I've done with no issues

Great idea! Can you tell me where the main water tank drain valve is located? Found the two low point drains but can't find the main water tank drain? We just took delivery of our 2013 ACE 29.2 last night and I wont to winterize.
Thanks so much for sharing this info!

My 2013 29.2 has no tank drain valve (it even shows one in the schematic).

The main water tank drain is your low point drain... one of your drains is before the pump (your tank) and the otehr is after the pump (lines to the fawcets).

The low point drain on the right side of the pump will drain the fresh water holding tank.

You can speed up the tank draining process by closing the lpd on the right of the pump and opening the lpd on the left and turning on the water pump.

Anyone have a pic of what the valves look like on the hot water heater when winterized and isolated?
Thanks.
