Wireless Temperature & Forecast Station

I want to get an accurate reading of the outdoor temperature while in the RV...was thinking of buying one of those Forecast "stations" with the remote sensor. Has anyone had any experience with those? Any recommendations? Does the wireless remote stay on the outside even while traveling?

I have a few wireless thermometers to monitor temps. One is in the freezer or refrigerator to watch refrigerator function. The second is for outdoor temperature, The sensor is zip tied to a brace in the open LP gas compartment. That way it's out of the sun, out of reach, and gives an accurate outside temperature. For cold weather camping, I have a third one that I can put in the wet bay to make sure it stays above freezing.

I have tried a number of spots - none seem to be great:

1. The small compartment under the toll window is so small it heats up quickly in the sun and the electronics seem to give off some heat.
2. The large bays are all heated
3. The water tank would affect the readings in the back bay in front of the drive wheels - might be reasonable spot and velcro tape could hold it there
4, The engine seems to retain heat and affect it in the Engine Compartment
5. The generator is another possibility if it doesn't run at night

It seems like this is a trade-off no matter what we've tried - Maybe DSL417 could weigh in since I believe he was a meteorologist in another life.
