According to sales brochure the 2012 MaxForce engine hp has been increased from 260 to 300, the torque stays same at 660. Is this significant, how was it achieved. Any impact on fuel efficiency. Thanks

The MaxxForce 7 Engine's ECM is programmable and it does produce 300HP and 660 lb/ft of torque. Don't ya just love computers.

Current press provides the following:

The 2010 MaxxForce 7 provides big power in an efficient V-8 package. Ratings have been boosted up to 300 horsepower and 660 lb.-ft. of torque. The new dual sequential turbochargers design and high-pressure common-rail fuel system yield higher peak power for impressive acceleration, grade climbing and towing capability.
