MaxxForce 10 Low Pressure Fuel Pump died.

I left on a trip and made it about 2 blocks and the engine sputtered and quit. With the help of a few friends I was able to get it back into my driveway. A quick test to see if there was fuel pressure at the Schrader valve on the secondary filter housing showed there was none. I called the closest International dealer that works on Motorhomes and provided VIN and engine serial numbers and the parts guy said he had one in stock so I pulled the old pump out and the next day I drove 150 miles to get it. I was not surprised that it was not the correct part, not even close. A few minutes later the other parts guy recognized the pump, went in the back and came back with the correct part. Evidently the pump is not listed correctly in the parts book. List price was $568.83 plus a $240.00 core charge (ouch!) for a re-manufactured pump. I installed the new pump with new filters and it primed and it pressured up. Engine started right up and we left the next day.

I suggest all you MaxxForce 10 owners note this part number in case it happens to you.

5010733R92 PUMP ASSY. REMAN FUEL ELEC

FYI, my MH is a 2012 with 43,000 miles on it, filters changed yearly. The pump is not difficult to change, one 6 pin electrical connector and 3 screws. Then it needs to be pried out with a small pry bar uses in one of the 3 notches. Installing it requires the 3 screws tightened evenly “walking” into the bore of the casting. On my 36’ MH I had to work through the floor in the bedroom which was the hardest part.

Glad you we're able to get it fixed that quickly.

Thanks for the update on the parts no. I hoping that your pump failure is not a common problem with that few miles on it.
