dw624, please keep us updated on what you hear about the class action lawsuit. I have had way too many problems with this engine and will probably be trading in for some other brand this fall. I too have been told by two different RV dealers that trade value will be less due to this engine. As you can read from my posts from shop to shop not all Tech's are up to speed on this engine. Best luck I have had is the Navistar shop in Santa Rosa CA. They knew enough to get help from Navistar engineer directly. Since that stop my engine has preformed fine, although still having problems with the engine brake. Also, we only drive the motorhome on weekdays during the day this is due to no confidence in the engine, need to be able to get hold of a shop in case of a breakdown and not be stranded. Thanks for the post.

I tried to say that my friends Chareston was on the hook 3 times when his Cummins shut down on him. Electrical gremlins each time.

Anthow Ctundra and dw624 definitely keep us posted on how things develope with the lawsuits, will be interesting.

I have an appointment with a International Dealer that does school buses. I had to sweet talk him because they don't do RVs anymore. I plan on waiting for that outcome to get a feel as to how they handle this. The other 2 shops act like it's the first they heard of a problem with the EGR system. It's been 2 full days since I contacted Monaco Tech support who promised to put me in contact with Navistar. So far nothing! I'll update when I know something.

Recently we attended the HRRVC Chapter 419 rally in Goshen, In. They had the engineer from Navistar check the Maxxforce engines there. When he checked mine found my ECM was up to date but he reset a lot of components especially the engine brake and cruise control. Now the engine brake will come on with the cruise control set once it gets over 4 mph over the set speed. The acceleration has really picked up. He told me how many mpg we were getting according to the ECM the number of gallons used and how long it had been idled. My mileage has increased, actual fuel to mileage, to 8.93 mpg. Our mileage on engine is 21,350. Just hope it continues to improve. The engineer was Chris Ingle with Navistar.

Wow that do sound like the way to go. Impressed that they did all of that. Wish they would have been at the Monaco Rally in Pahrump that we attended a year ago.
Was wondering if they had anything to say about any problems with these engines.

They claimed they were having some problems before the last reflash of the ECM. The didn't say what it was though. I just hope mine keep going like it is

This might explain it.

New 2016 42E Journey

Looks like he has moved on to a Winnebago Journey, would be nice to hear if he ever resolved his issues with the Maxxforce 10

Yes that would be nice.
I'll be going into the closet to check for potential turbo leaks.
