Rotella ELC Extender - where to buy

I have a 2011 Knight with the MaxxForce 10 that has the Rotella ELC antifreeze in it. Supposed to add the Rotella ELC Extender after 3 years but have not been able to find it anywhere in southern California. I can order it by the case but only need one quart! Anybody know where I might be able to buy a quart in Los Angeles area? Thanks!

Just curious Tom, what is the coolant extender and what does it do? Shell does not talk/list it on their website Shell Rotella® Products - Shell Rotella
Just wondering? Thanks.........
I see this here http://maxxforce.com/Application/mot...e/maxxforce_10

This product replenishes nitrite levels according to what I read. I can order it by the case for about $10 a quart but I would never use that much! I figured $10 for a quart of extender to go another 3 years is a whole bunch less $$$ and easier than draining, flushing, and new antifreeze.

When doing a search on it, this is all I come up with Extended Life Coolant Extender - Fluids - General Products - Big Rig World besides the 6 bottle option you found. Not sure about it as is made by/for CAT. I am thinking a call to the Maxxforce Dealer is in order here......

Smile ELC extender

All our searching finally produced Rotella ELC extender at Truck King on I40 and Whitaker in Amarillo Texas. We bought the last quart, hope they order more.

I'm in The Coachella Valley in California right now and am having a heck of a time trying to find this stuff. If anyone has any suggestions would sure appreciate them.

RWC has many locations. If one site carries the stuff, a call to another closer to your location may get you what you need. A Google search will get you all their locations.

For anyone still struggling to find the ELC, I came across an interesting solution the other day.
Stopped buy the Cummins Coach Care Center here in Coburg the other day trying to find some ELC Extender. The parts guy found a Fleetgaurd Extender that would be compatible. Unfortunately none was available. After a call to Fleetquard he was told they quit making it. So he was transferred over to an Engineer who said they it was no longer available and they we're not making an alternative. As there just wasn't enough demand for it.

The engineer then went on to say that all you had to do was to test the PH level and if necessary, drain a couple of gallons and replace with fresh this would bring it back up to spec. He highly doubted we would even need to do that on these coaches with there low mileage.

Just wanted to pass this on.

I am the OP of this thread and gave up my search for the extender. I ended up flushing the system and replacing it with the new Rotella ELC that does not require the extender. Problem solved LOL.

Have to agree cause trying to find the extender is a real pain.

Probably the way to go, I was just hoping to get a couple of more years out my existing coolant. Hopefully when I test it next month all will be good for another year or two.
