Serpentine belt pulley broke off

Anyone hear of an idler pulley breaking off the engine? We have a 2011 Holiday Rambler Ambassador with a Maxforce 10 engine. The serpentine belt came off while traveling and the mobile mechanic determined that the idler pulley just broke off the engine. About 32k miles on the engine. Very disturbing!

Yes it does happen, the bearing will fail and you never know it because the noise it made to warn you was too far away.

Also if it just broke off the mounting bolt, that would have been one of those defects that just happen to get past QC.

Once fixed , you should never have this issue again, Sorry for your inconvenience.
