Don, We're talking about a 29'7" foot motorhome here and Tiffin would not place themselves in a position where the vehicle when driven is sensed to be underpowered. In My Blog I wrote about the engine calibration that was chosen and why Tiffin sees it as a key to the strategy that moves Breeze sales.
The 2011 Tiffin Allegro Breeze
I have also answered the Exhaust Brake question ...

Driver I appreciate you taking the time to find the answers to my questions. All were answered to my satisfaction. Your opinion please: Would you be comfortable driving thru the western mountains pulling a Honda. Will the brakes be enough to go down the hills. I have not owned a motorhome before? Thank You.

Ed & Karen, Honestly Bob Tiffin would not hang his name on a motorhome that would not meet with the traditions that Tiffin Motorhomes has established over the years. I fully expect that the Breeze will exceed customer satisfaction.
The best thing that anyone can do would be to test drive a vehicle before they bought it however in this case, I believe that for many months to come, that every Breeze that comes off the line will be already sold. It will be difficult to see a Breeze on a lot somewhere waiting to be purchased.
The air brakes on this vehicle I am told are designed keeping in mind that the engine does not have an exhaust brake. In regard to towing a CRV, I don't see a problem with it. You do have to outfit the CRV with an auxiliary brake and along these lines I would recommend the SMI Air Force One.
Would I drive the Breeze in the Western Mountains? In my opinion; I would not expect that the Breeze will take on grades like a a possessed machine however in the end slow and steady always wins the race.

I just read a review of the Breeze in the FMCA magazine and it looks like a very nice coach. However, one of the things that stood out immediately is "where do you store your hanging clothes"? The wardrobes by the bed are "small" at best.
So unless you already live in the mountains, you won't be able to carry enough clothes to get you there. Therefore, the engine brake won't be a problem.

Driver, thanks. I am going to the Tampa show mid Jan and then put the bid out to buy(just want to see the 32' Breeze first).
Ernieh- I have been camping since 1975. I've had tents, a popup, a 19' trailer, and just sold another popup. I've camped with a wife two daughters and numerous friends. For me the Breeze is a mansion. Friends were amazed what I would bring with me: Toys to keep kids occupied including the rest of the campground. Screen tent, tables, coolers, bbq. If someone asked for something in particular, I would rumage around and dig it up.
I don't think I will run out of room. In another 30+ years Imay find the Breeze tight .

I have a Serrano with the same engine. No exhaust break. We live in Colorado and obviously are in the mountains a fair amount. Putting the transmission into 4th or 5th seems to handle most of it but you MUST remember to do it before you start down the mountain. We don't pull a toad but do pull a motorcycle trailer with two bikes and no brakes. I've had the unit (with & without trailer) on some pretty serious passes. As long as I'm careful I've had no problems.

Thanks for your reply to my inquiry. Helpful info. We've decided to stay with our Winnebago Journey.

It is expected that Tiffin will exhaust their current supply of the pre-2010 MaxxForce7 engines that they have and begin installing the 2010 AEGR engine. These engine I believe will have more HP and Torque unless Tiffin orders the engine to maximize MPGs at which point Less HP translates directly to better economy. You still have to feed the thing fuel and the more horses you have, the hungrier they get. In regard to torque that would not change drastically since in whatever config the engine comes in it should provide 620+ lbs/ft of torque. On a 32-to 35 foot class A motorhome like a Breeze this can't be a bad thing since the engine moves out a much larger vehicle quite well.
See the MaxxForce7 test drive I wrote about in the Blog listings.
