After an hour or so of highway driving and a stop is required (traffic signal) the engine seems to loose a lot of power trying to accelerate. All engine & transmission temps. remain constant including the turbine outlet. Exhaust brake off or on makes no difference.
Acceleration during the first 30-45 minutes is like the proverbial "scalded dog".
Wonder why this would be?
Leaking CAC system would be "all the time"?
Hanging exhaust brake ditto?

How are your fuel filters? Have they been changed recently?

The lift pump could fit your symptoms. The injector pump could also be a problem. Does it run rough when you lose power indicating one cylinder missing? That might mean an injector. Check to see if there might be an air leak into the fuel before the lift pump.

Thanks Jim,
There is no "missing" as the engine runs smooth for both ops. (hi/low power). Wouldn't lift pump affect starting? Always starts in 1-2 revolutions of the engine. Can hear no brakes dragging and "coasting" appears normal with no abnormal stopping tendency.

Hal
The lift pump might be a variable problem. An air leak before the lift pump might also be variable. A pressure check on the lift pump and injector pump might help.
