2000 5.9 Question.

I'm still getting an occasional SES. The engine de-rates as long as the SES is present. The code per. Scangauge is : "ID: 190 - Engine Speed (RPM)
FM: 2 - Data erratic, intermittent, or incorrect".

I believe it's the crank position sensor. I don't think this 2000 5.9 Cummins has a cam sensor.

Anyone?

That sounds about right. What does Cummins say?

My ISC 350, same code, erratic RPM, boiled down to engine speed sensor!

Hope that fixes your problem. Sometimes it is just a bad connection/corrosion in the connection.

50 mi. shakedown and no codes. Thursday is road trip and the real test.

I was told it could be:

1 Sensor
2 Wiring
3 ECM
