2001 ISC 350Hp. SCA or OAT Coolant?
I contacted Freightliner and was told to stick with the SCA coolant in my 2001 ISC 350Hp and go ahead and flush and replace hoses and SCA filter but stay with SCA in my engine?
Opinions?

You just got them from the factory. I'm a believer in using what the factory recommends.

Would again recommend all Cummins owners of ISL or larger engines to make sure what coolant they have and then does it have the protection for cylinder lines from cavitation. We are here at Newmar Kountry Klub Rally in Indio Ca. and one of our members is going to have replace is ISL engine because of coolant getting into his cylinders from leaky in cylinders. He was taking it to what he thought was a diesel service center who were doing ALL of his required service but they weren't checking his coolant. Owner be aware. He also thought his Good Sam extended warranty would pay the 40K$ for work and was told it's is a maintenance requirement and was not done so he will not be getting anything from Good Sam Extended Warranty. Know what coolant you have and then test it.

outch, 40k$! doing it right in the first place with small money is like paying an insurance premium, worth it.

My coach has had Peak Final Charge in it since 2010. I'm in the process of changing the coolant again right now. There is no issue running an OAT coolant and a lot less fussing with it.

I’ve got the Freightliner Fleetcharge that came with our coach...but I planned to flush and changeover to Final Charge OAT. I was under the impression the service interval was one million hwy miles... If you don’t mind me asking, what service interval are you using with the Final Charge? Thanks.
I tried buying 3-way test strips at the Tampa Show from the Freightliner folks. They only had strips that expired a month ago. So, for having them on hand for the next year...so I can test, dose, retest...every 6 months...why would they think I want to buy expired test strips?.. Anyway...I’m over it. Ready to get away from these ridiculous SCA coolants.
By the way...does your engine have a WF type filter? Our ISL does not...but I believe I could purchase the parts to add a filter. I’m just wondering if it’s prudent to filter the coolant...especially since it’s got such a long, Long, service life...
