2001 ISC 8.3 and ScanGauge D

Bought & installed a ScanGauge D for my "new" 2001 Holiday Rambler Endeavor. Most DPs I've read about have their diagnostic port somewhere on or close to the dash. Lucky me - mine is in the roadside electrical bay under the driver's compartment.

So after the major PIA of trying to run the cable up through the firewall , I plug the unit in ... and it shuts down after 15-20 seconds.

Tried the troubleshooting recommendations in the ScanGauge user manual (i.e., try a different plug) ... same result.

Wondering if maybe I got the wrong connector (it was the only one I found dangling), or is there something else going on? Maybe an outdated firmware version?

My 2000 Dynasty had the diagnostic port under the dash, to the left of the steering wheel. You have to lie on your left side and look up under the dash to see it. The Scanguage comes with two different kinds of connectors and both were there on my Dynasty. I don't remember the number they use for the different plugs. The first one I plugged it into did the exact same thing you are experiencing. I unplugged it and plugged it into the other port and Viola, it worked.

I have a hard time believing there is not a similar connector on your HR. Get up under there with a flashlight and I'm pretty sure you will find one somewhere.

I would definitely give the company a call and get their help. I haven't called them as mine worked great on my 07 Neptune when installed. However I've heard on here that they are very helpful in resolving issues with the scangauge.

Scangauge works fine on my 2000 8.3 ISC 350 in American Eagle.
I found the port after searching under the dash area, by the pedals.

good luck -- Dale
