2007 ISB300 clutch fan

I have another thread asking about the power of this engine but wanted to ask another question. I spoke to the seller. He said at 40k miles (It has 45k now) it blow the clutch fan. He said it only got to about 210 when he caught it. He put new fan, water pump and belt on it. I am going to try it out but there really isn't way to know if this did permanent damage or cause pre-mature engine failure is there?

I don't know about a 2007, but newer Cummins will derate and shut down the engine if it sense overheating. That may have been around 10 years ago.

A call to Cummins would give you a quick answer.

My 2005 ISB300 has the shutdown features if it gets to hot. Doesn't mean someone can't do damage if the don't shut her down.
Based on only 210 and if it runs good now, I personally wouldn't have any issues. I really like the ISB300.

Thanks for the reply's. I had a chance to talk to a really good diesel mechanic in the area. He said to check the anti-freeze to see if any oil laying on top is about the only way to see if possibly it hard a warped head. It is clean. I took it for the test drive tonight before writing the check. Runs great. Will just have to keep an eye on it.
