2009 ISL fuel filter change question.

Thank you everyone for your advise.... I just got finished changing my filters and to be on the safe side, I pre-filled them while covering the center hole. I had no problems starting it afterwards. I like no problems! ..😊.

I have always used the one at a time method as well. Dry will work unless you are sitting in situation with the front end (tank) lower than normal.

Never have airlocked one by following the instructions that the factories publish!

Is there any stable diesel or substitute that can be carried safely for pre-fill use? What small container can be used? I hate to carry a gallon can for this. One also needs a fair sized container for the fuel in the filters that are removed. I just went through this on the side of the road and had to walk a short distance and buy a 1 gallon gas can to buy a couple dollars worth of diesel and then used the can to carry the old fuel from the removed filters. SURE would be easier to install dry if that is in fact the recommendation for my 2014 vintage ISL.

You should be able to install the fuel filters dry. When you first get in the coach turn the key on and let it sit for about 30 seconds or so then turn the key off, then on for another 30 seconds. That should run your lift pump enough to fill them up again.

The instructor at CAMP FREIGHTLINER in gaffney sc recommend purchasing a rubber plug at Home Depot or lowes to plug the center hole of the filter to pre fill. He recommended to prefill the filters.

Many diesel fuel additives can be used to fill the filter. Howes is one I use. Can buy in 32 or 64 oz bottle. Much easier to store then gallon of diesel.
