350 ISC muffler and connecting pipe replacement?
I have a 2003 350HP ISC that needs to have the muffler and connecting pipe replaced. I have what I think is all the parts needed but just want to be sure before I start; a replacement muffler (side input), flex pipe, clamps, and hangars.
The question I have is what if anything should I use at the connections from the undamaged section of connecting pipe to the new connecting pipe, muffler, and at the tail pipe?

A look underneath the rig should tell you all that.

What coach do you have? It makes a difference. Much of the exhaust system is not made by Cummins, but rather by the m/h and/or chassis builder, many times all three contribute to parts of it. That said, you might need elbows, adapters, hangars, muffler, flex pipe, crossover pipe, more clamps, tail pipe, exhaust tip. Once you get the old exhaust off, reassembling the new is pretty easy. Here's some links I used when replacing my muffler with an AeroTurbine on an Itasca Horizon ISC 350.

My technique was to cut out the damaged portion with a Sawzall, then use a band clamp, either butt or lap to connect the rest. They are a bit more expensive but you can undo them and they don't crimp the pipe. Many 4" muffler/resonators are not built for ISC use. They target the light duty truck market.
