I have an 04 DSDP with a 370 ISL. When I left Michigan the coolant was at appropriate level. Now in Virginia and the coolant is down (slightly). Since I purchased her in Feb. 07 I have put in about 3/4 of a gallon of coolant. Any ideas what is going on.

The coolant should not be used that quickly as it is a closed system. I had mine pressure checked and they found some loose clamps allowing some leakage. The coolant usage before was about the same as you mentioned. I would have it checked.

Well, depending on where the top level is, you never know. My '02 DSDP always needed a top up. Ran it 56k with no problem. My current would eat a pint every 100 miles. If I didn't top it up, no problem, it didn't use any more. You may not have a problem at all, only a too high "full" scale line.
Try not topping it up and observe the drop.
That's my guess.

I agree. My 2000 DSDP Cummins always used a little coolant and I mentioned that to Spartan at Charlotte. They showed me I was over filling the tank and from then on it never used a drop. On my 2005 DS 370 Cummins ISL, I keep the coolant one or two inches above the sight glass and it has never used any.

I have added about a cup every 5,000 miles or so.
I keep mine about midway in the sight glass. It has 40,000 miles on it and I flushed and changed coolant once.
Even though I only add just a little bit during each long trip, I have also wondered what causes the level to go down.

That's about what mine is doing. About 1/2 to 3/4 of the sight glass. I think I will do as others have suggested, keep measuring it and see if it drops much more. Mine has gone down during an 1,000 mile trip thus far. I am going to check connections as also suggested. Thanks to all.
