When was engine last serviced? Does it smoke at all?

As posted, fuel filters are 1st, other maintenance item like air filter....

Air intake or exhaust restriction

If filters are very recent, look for charge air hose leak, missing or broken CAC clamps as low turbo boost can be issue...

42pete, I had virtually the same problem with my Cummins 5.9. You can see a bunch of good info at my recent post:

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f123/urge...er-319521.html

An easy starting place, based on my problems, is to carefully look for any disconnect between your radiator area and intake manifold. You also might want to take a good look where the exhaust manifold bolts up to the head. You would be looking for bent bolts and/or black exhaust residue.

My sincere hope is that you will have something easy and cheap to fix.
