I use Amsoil in my Cummins 400hp ISL.

My brother in law is a dealer.

i think Mobil 1 being available everywhere has really put the hurts on Amsoil. Curiuos to see how many people on here reply that they are using it.

I'm a Mobil 1 user.

Does it meet Cummins specs now? They used to have a fake seal that looked very close to the real approval sticker.

If you're considering using Amsoil (or any other oil) in a new, emissions controlled Cummins application, it's even more critical than ever that the oil meet all API and Cummins specifications for your particular application. Poisoned catalysts and plugged DPF filters and/or EGR coolers are NOT cheap to replace. The lube oil specs for the newer, stringently emissions controlled diesels are written to safeguard these catalysts and filters.

We're using Amsoil AMO 10-40w in my pre-emission diesels MHs. I hope I never have to buy a 07 or later emission diesel.

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/amo.aspx

We buy AMO for the perferred customer price(25% off retail) by the 30 gal drum delivered to the house for about $29/gal.

In our gasoline vehicles, we've been using what until recently was called SSO 0-30w, and is now called AZO 0-30w.

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/azo.aspx

We install a remote engine oil bypass filtration system on everything. On our gasoline vehicles, we use Amsoil filters in both the full flow and bypass positions. On the diesels MHs, we use Fleetguard in both positions.

Other fluids we use in the MHs:
Amsoil Hyd system-AWI AW46
Amsoil Gear oil-SVO 75-90w
Amsoil Grease-GLC
Detroit Diesel ethylene glycol coolant-Power Cool
Transynd ATF
Power Service Diesel Kleen(silver) fuel additive

We use Transynd because it is cheaper than Amsoil Torque Drive and for the TES295 spec. We do use Amsoil ATL trans fluid in our daily gasoline powered vehicles, as well as Amsoil OAT coolant, and air filter elements.

Using oil analysis results in our gasoline powered daily drivers, we change the oil and full flow filters once/yr, which is every 18K miles in one and every 15K in the other. The by-pass & air filters are changed every 2 yrs. We've installed larger than stock full flow filters too.

We don't ever keep our MHs long enough to determine oil & filter change intervals.

We hope this helps

I used it in my towed for a while.. The problem is the towed likes to leak oil (NOTE; I replaced the seals twice BEFORE putting Amisoil in it so I'm not about to blame the oil)

Once it starts leaking it's the cheapest "Stuff" I can pour in.

Then the wiring harness filed and left me dead on the side of the road (Actually in a parking lot) and from there.. Junk yard time.

I run it in my other vehicles, but I just don't have warm fuzzies about it for heavy duty applications. I run Shell Rotella exclusively, in my ISM and genset.

Amsoil doesn't have any trans fluids that have passed the TES295 spec. They claim that it was "designed to meet TES295 specs", that doesn't mean it passed. Using it might void any Allison warranty.
