Today
while peeking around and see whats on the list for Saturdays waxing party
i noticed a small wet area under the engine
i stuck my mark 1 Mod 0 finger in it and it was oily and clear....
so i wiggled my svelte frame up under the coach and spied a small wet spot around my a/c pressure hose, It looks like it may need a replacement...
but thats not the BIGGIE
as i was spying my ever bright flashlight around the engine, belts and hoses
i noticed the wire running from the fan clutch back across the bracket up to the connector at the engine right above the water pump pulley.
the wire had been routed UNDER the support bracket vice on top and was hanging/touching the shiny edge of the pulley.
it had also chaffed through through the insulation to expose two shiny wires inside the little harness.
I temp wrapped it up in electrical tape.
Looks like a longer list of repairs on my next visit
good thing i found it now and not next week while heading across state

this is an ISC engine

Another case of getting under your MH and finding problems before they become major. Those who don't do their own work and never see most of their chassis have a severe disadvantage. I have found a few important and easy to fix things under my MH just by getting under it to lube it and change the oil. I found a bolt missing from the oil pan, a hanger strap broken on my generator exhaust, a loose clamp or two on my radiator hose, and I am sure there are some others.

ran a leak check today
the fan is fixed
but the a/c is leaking at the top line on the back of the fitting where it attaches to the threaded end (crimp)
so
is it a cummins repair or freightliner?
the reason i ask is cummins is 30 minutes away and freight is two hrs away

It is a Freightliner issue since Cummins doesn't supply the AC. Contact Freightliner and see if there is anything closer. If you are out of warranty for sure try some DIY. Try carefully tightening the connection of the AC hose. Try to determine just where the leak is. An AC shop near you should be able to work on the problem if it is beyond your scope at home.

thanks
i am still under warranty...i will give frieghtliner a call tried the slight wiggle on the threaded end it was tight. I am not an A/C person of great knowledge, but i built up lots of high pressure hoses, I cant imagine them changing out the 40 plus feet of hose. maybe a new crimp and a union will get it fixed

update
i talked to freightliners 1-800 folks
REALLY NICE and helpful, KUDOS

any who he looked up my serial numbers and determined that freightliner put the compressor on but damon did the up fit of the pressure and return lines

sooooo
i called damon and its scheduled to get REPLACED on the 18th, yep replaced all 40 plus feet of it. I would have chopped off the offending end and reswaged a new one then add a short extension if needed. but they said NOPE we will pull it all out and replace it
great i just now stopped all my water leaks into the basement.
the poor tech that gets to do the job is going to be in for some fun
