B5.9 re-torque head bolts?

Head was replaced on my 1992 B5.9 12 valve mechanical 3000 miles ago. Should head bolts (and/or manifold bolts) be re-torqued after replacing head? Valves adjusted? Thanks for the help.

Most forums seem to be about upping HP to 400-600, little about a stock engine. This is the best info I found:

HEAD BOLTS, 12V

TORQUE SPEC:
SHORT BOLTS - 66 FT LB
MED BOLTS - 77 FT LB
LONG BOLTS - 90 FT LB
RETORQUE ALL BOLTS 3 TIMES FOLLOWING CUMMINS TORQUE SEQUENCE.

TURN ALL BOLTS 90 DEGREES

FOR BEST RESULTS, DRIVE TRUCK EASY FOR 1 WEEK. RETORQUE ALL BOLTS AT 120 FT LBS - COLD.

Be sure to have a good, calibrated torque wrench. If the bolts weren't replaced, you might be dealing with stretched bolts that won't tighten properly and will actually loosen when attempting re-torquing. If you had it done by a shop, it might be best to ask them to re-torque, that way any problems that develop can be blamed on their work.

Thanks for the response. I did have a shop do the work but would not take it back to them because they are not to be trusted. I will try and get to the Cummins shop in Austin tomorrow and see if they can tell me their recommendation. And also for the manifold bolts.

There are a number of web sites devoted to older 5.9 Cummins engines. Two I used a lot when I had a 1990 Allegro with a 5.9, were TDR(Turbo Diesel Register) and 1stgen.org. Both cover wide range of years.
Also any Cummins shop can give you info. Cummins Quick serve is a Cummins web site that can give you specific info on your engine.Drawings, part numbers etc.
Find out from the place that did your work if they used new bolts, and start from there.
