A simple Google search came up with all kinds of info. Something to do with the EGR I believe

I have the CEL on my 340 HP cummins now. It started intermittently, then came on solid on a cross country trip from CA to FL. I was ok with that until I reached Tucson AZ and on pulling a grade the Stop ENG lite came on for a few seconds. Stopped in Tucson at a Kenworth Service center. They pulled the codes on INSIGHT and found that the VGT actuator was not calibrating. Also indicated the SEL was a result of over temp exhaust regen. They did an R&R on the VGT actuator and performed additional computer check and road tested. All was good and I left Tucson. After around 280 miles down the road the CEL came on again. It remained on all day. Next day, the CEL was not on and ran 350 Miles. Following day, the CEL came on again after 200+miles and stayed on. Pulled the diagnostic on display and it gave me 2791 FMI 13. Looked this up and source said that this was EGR valve incorrect position. Light stayed on all the way to FL with no appreciable notice in performance. Waiting now for appt. to have service center check it again. I expect the EGR will need replacing at a min. If anyone has had similar issues, I would like to hear the outcome.

I have the same engine in my 2008 Expedition, I eliminated all my check engine lights with a software upgrade. I had the original version 14 and the installed version was version 41. No loss of MPG.
If you setup an account with Freightliner you can input the code and it will tell you what's wrong

It is related to your EGR valve/actuator. What is the fmi code following 2791? I also have the ISB 340 cummins and experiencing CEL issue.
