Cost to replace fan

98 Freightliner XC with 5.9 Cummins 275 ISB.
THREE fan blades broke and belt severed.
Doesn’t appear to be any additional damage. Fins look good and it is holding coolant.
Anyone have an idea on what this will cost?

Call a Freightliner in Auburn or Cummins Northwest for an estimate. At least you will have some numbers to base a decision onl

Had this happen to me last week, complete nightmare.

Went to Freightliner, they quoted me the most absurd number imaginable, was going to be $4K minimum but they felt like closer to $5K

Said h3ll no and left with rig broken. Drove across street to parking lot at truck stop, ordered the parts directly from Spartan via next day air, changed the fan and broken radiator hose, all in under $600. Then drove my MH 14 hours back home with zero issues. If your not completely stranded, shop around, Freightliner is not your friend.

Good luck!
