So you stand corrected https://thormotorcoach.com/tuscany/xte/ . No
newer Thor Tuscanys come with a ISC.

I want to upgrade to more power but it appears my gasser tops most Diesels.

Just offering a different viewpoint here - when did you last change your fuel and air filters?

The turbo boost reading is obtained by scrolling through the engine settings with the toggle knob for your center LCD display

If this is a Freightliner Chassis, then it probably has a LBU (Light Bar Unit).
Does it have three text display lines in the dash panel?

If so, you can change what is displayed, and one of the things that you can display is the Boost Pressure.

SORRY HarryB, missed your post

Regards,

Dan

That much turbo-lag + low power sounds like a leaking exhaust pre-turbo piping. At any rate, locate a Cummins coach-care dealer and have them run a diagnostic test.

I have a 2011 Cummins ISB 6.7 XT. Juse had a MP-8tuner installed. After almost 1000 miles down I-5, over the Siskyous I am able to pull all hills 10+ mph faster and am getting about 1mpg better. It has been fantastic. Set at 3/4 boost

Based on this spec sheet http://.rvcountry.com/common/brochures/mak8777.pdf you have an ISB XT with 800 ft/lbs of torque. I have a 300 HP Cummins with I think 600 Ft/lbs in my Excursion which is slightly smaller and it gets along quite well. It's sweet spot is 1800 RPM.

What kind of "hills" are you referring to? Normal flatland hills, or 6% grades or greater? When I was doing 7% grades my coach was in 4th and 5th gear over 2000 RPM and doing 45-50 MPH. But normally it chugs along towing a 4000 pound car just fine at 65 MPH around 1800 RPM. It merges onto the highway just fine.

Sounds like you need to take it to a Cummins/Freightliner shop and take the mechanic for a test ride.

On reading your first post, I thought to myself that you are a new diesel driver. My suspicions are correct.

You need to spend some time learning how to drive a diesel and no, you cannot drive it like a gasser or you will experience what you are now.

RICPE I hope you have a "pyro" gauge and a boost gauge. A better value would be to have Cummins reflash your ECU for more torque and HP. Sanford PS we chipped our ISB 6.7 and the temps went way up.......haven't used it since.

Probably this^^

It took me awhile to get used to the snail's pace acceleration of my MH. ISB 350/750 with Allison 3000. Considering that I am pulling 35,000 pounds including an SUV in tow, it actually does pretty well! Even an old aircooled beetle seems snappy in comparison.

That's why I went with a Banks kit on out ISC 350. Included a boost and EGT gauge plus it would automatically dial the fuel/boost or both back if the EGT's went too high.

Cummins ran a diagnostic. Freightliner did also. The only codes that came up were 'Throttle Position' codes from mile 00001. That is expected since the factory id/reassembles the throttle linkage a number of times while building the coach. Thanks..............Jim
