When you started up the hill what was your speed and what gear were you in? Based on my experience with my 40ft coach you need to hit the hill running up the rpms and drop to a lower gear when you see the RPM drop to the point of losing steam. I have found that if I let off or have to slow down due to slow truck and no passing lane the RV will not recover the mph and I am then at a crawl the rest of the way up. What did you have prior to give you the impression the new rv was going to be a hill climbing beast? With any of them you have to get a head start on the climb and dont let off the pedal and turn off the cruise control.

Any thoughts?

Did you buy it without test driving it? A test drive would have uncovered this issue.

You may be dealing with 2 different issues here. The first issue is RV related warranty work which should be completed by the dealer. These types of issues can take a long time at the dealership. The second issue is the performance of the chassis, and that would be dealt with by a Cummins dealer. Looks like you have a juggling act for scheduling these issues.

I have found it very helpful to shoot some video of the problem I experience. That shows the dealer in real time what is going on and helps with the diagnosis.

you got to RPM the baby IS series.. they like to stay above 1800 on anything but level ground. Shoot for 2200 in the hills.
