So if we decide to venture deep into Mexico and into central america, do you think cummins would do a reprogram on our 8.3 ISC EPA 07 engine to allow removal of the DPF and regeneration cycle, due to the sparse availability of ultra low sulphur fuels
the farther south we go.....maybe a switch to go from US EPA rules to the other countries and a by pass of the DPF through a dump valve or the like

powerboat, the year I retired from working on Dodge Cummins , was the first for ULS fuel and RE-gen cycles, Trucks started arriving and being sold almost 9 months before the ULS was mandated to be available every where. Only 2 trucks that we sold had issues with the low sulpher fuel and both of them were RV delivery, ( factory to /dealer) and had put on 60,000miles when the issues started. Totally plugged DPF's, burnt out sensors in the exhaust. I doubt that Cummins , has or would allow program changes or system mods. But they may give you an idea, how much tolerance the system has in gallons/litres to higher sulpher fuel.

It's illegal for them to do that unless the the vehicle is designated for export only. As long as you have your US plates and title they aren't going to even consider it.

Whay not see if it is possible to add another 50 gallon fuel tank to the vehicle. if your present tank has a drain fitting on the side at the bottom that makes it VERY easy to ad one.
You could even fill both tanks with the one filler neck.
I would reccomend installing valves at both tanks in case some thing happens to the hose between the 2 tanks.

Probably to cover the cost of law suits , from Cummins, EPA, and owners whose warrenties he voids with the mods.

The web is full of programmers selling "off road" chips the kill the DPF functions (and increase fuel and boost .)
Half the Ford and Dodge pickups on the road have a 5" straight pipe, and not a muffler or DPF to be found.

yep...the place in fl, will kill the dpf and regen cycle to allow the dpf to be removed.....but i could almost buy a new dpf and ecm for what they want to do a reflash... even though they advertise for otr (off road trucks)

You have to send in your ECM and have it reprogramed. They will also eliminate the EGR. You have to blank it off also. Worth 1-1/2 MPG. If you had Cummins Calterm and the license you could play around and flash it yourself.
