Just got a recall notice for a new fuel line bracket for Cummins' C- and L-Series engines that are equipped with the CM850 Fuel System.

I remember reading a post on this a while back that referenced a fuel line break and fire. I haven't seen anything else posted in a while and since this is a free install from Cummins, I thought I would post it.

The new fuel line and bracket is to prevent excessive fuel line vibration. I called the Mobile, AL Cummins shop and got a appointment for this Friday. I was told they are familiar with the recall, had the parts, and it would take 1 to 2 hours.

Phrog Driver...
I have linked this topic to the Cummins forum also. I think I have a photo there showing the bracket that we do have on ours...

Here is the other thread...

Monaco must have finally sent out the notices to everyone. I got mine yesterday. When I talked to Cummins awhile back, they told me that they send the notices to the manufactures and they send them out.

For all of you that have received this notice, don't wait for the line to break lose and have diesel sprayed all over your hot engine...it is very scary.

It's not a big deal (its been tested by Cummins with NHTSB oversight and no problem was ever found- see earlier discussion on details) although I don't recommend waiting even for notice if you have an 2005-2006 ISC/ISL call a distributor with engine SN and check; then if on list go get it fixed.

I did not receive a recall notice from either Monaco or Cummins. Cummins did tell me about the recall but I initiated the call.

Did not take long for the local Cummins shop to change out the line and install the bracket. It took almost as long to extend the slide, remove the access door and cover the carpet to keep it clean.

MM,
I had it done last week. Had to wait about a week for the part(s) to come in. Was outta there in under an hour and even had the pri and sec fuel filters changed out. The new shiney bracket and fuel line turned out to be an incentive to wash the engine. LOL

Just Called Cummings office in Portland, OR. The service tech said the parts are on backorder and he took my name/number and will call me when they arrive. The numbers he quoted me on the phone, a bunch were on BO in his system, no one in the NW has the kits for repair.

just curious...I have an ISC330 Cummins. Should I be contacting my local Cummins shop about this? I hadn't heard about a part repair campaign.
