I went with a friend to pick up his new Holiday Rambler in MI on Wed. It is a Diesel pusher with cummins ISB 360 hp. When we got back to Tulsa OK and stopped for fuel the engine stopped running while fueling. It started up ok, then when we got to his hangar to store it, the engine kept running after the ignition was turned off... the engine kept running for about five minutes. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Keith

The solenoid for the air shut off valve may be weak or worn and not fulling allowing valve to close..why it will not shut off...or could have allowed valve to shut, thus shutting engine off...would have said check fuel pump/filters if it only was a shut down issue...but since won't shut down sounds like you have fuel and air and air needs to be shut off to stop engine...just be cause curious why post on Newmar?

It might have a "cool down timer" on it. The cool down timer allows the turbo to cool down and shuts off at a certain temp or time.

I thought the ISB and ISL are two different engines. If it's new, call the dealer, they might have had this problem before.

A 360HP ISB should be a new 6.7L one.
Is it still under warranty?

Cummins engines do no employ an 'air shut off'. Engine shut down is accomplished by the ECM when the key is turned to the off position. Could well be that the key circuit has a loose connection. Since it is a new MH either the manufacturer or Cummins should be investigating. If it is the key circuit, Cummins will not be responsible.

A diesel only requires two things to run, fuel and air, so there are only two ways to shut a diesel off, cut the fuel (as Cummins does) or cut off the air.
In the old Detroits they would sometimes keep running even with the fuel shut off by pulling crankcase oil up. The only way to shut them down was to throw something over the intake and choke off the air.
