Cummins phone app

This videobriefly speaks about a phone app at the 1:35 mark, and accompanying INLINE mini. I've never heard of it prior to watching the video. Does anyone know about this? Will you please explain it to me if you know? It sounds like Cummins version of silverleaf.

I have the Inline Mini. It is a device that plugs into the diagnostic port to read and reset diagnostic fault codes. Communication from it to the phone is via Bluetooth.

I purchased this as although I had readers to see the fault codes, they couldn't define the problem...just report the code. Cummins proprietary I think?

Anyway....I purchase it from the Cummins dealer when I had a fault code and had them read and decipher. (Which they will do for free...but I can't always or find it inconvenient to travel to a dealer).

Having it available is a peace of mind in my DIY troubleshooting. It isn't cheap...it's like $350...but I had already joined the Cummins Power Club and that got me 10% off.

I'll give an example of where I used it...replaced fuel filter...and soon after was getting a water in fuel fault. It would actually shut down the engine after a while. I could stop and restart to keep going. Cummins read it and cleared it for me...but it would come back. Even changing out the sensor...the fault wasn't cleared. The Inline Mini cleared the fault after the condition was fixed.

They are only available from Cummins. Quite a bit of info on the Cummins web site regarding them.

I guess Bob. Of course we knew already it was a Cummins part. And then a google search provided the rest. Like I said. SMH

Cummins phone app

You can also purchase the mini at diagnostics superstore on the web. They sell there for $398. Online Cummins shows price at $450. Prices have gone up or your dealer gave you a good price break.

Once you purchase the Cummins inline Bluetooth adapter you can download the app for free, search your respective play store for "Cummins Fault Advisor"

...btw, any Bluetooth J1939 9 pin adapter will connect to the Cummins Fault Advisor app....not just the inline

...but also know it's only for engines with the 9 pin J1939 diagnostic connector. The 6 pin J1708 will not. This connector change started around 2004/2005 model year engine.
If your diagnostic connector is under dash and not easy to see, take a cell phone pic of it.

Wow...if so...that's huge news. An owner can purchase a $145 device instead of the now priced Inline Mini for $400.

Just a guess, but I think all this "Fluff Info" is why we all read and respond to these Posts.

Lots of good Info can be had. Just not in every Post.

Take a look at this thread from the Alpine forum. It's post #13. This bluetooth OBD2 reader for $80 plus a Deutsch-9-pin-to-OBD2 pigtail and the Cummins android phone ap is all you need.

The trouble with your links is, that blue link item only connects to a laptop. My questions are about the Cummins type item that connects to a smart phone.
There is lots of good info here, and that's exactly why we are here. No one knows it all, all together we come close though.

Ray, of course the Inline Mini connects to smartphone Cummins app as well as the BT ones that Mack talks about.
He mentions that they talk to the smartphone app from Cummins also and are priced only a little over $100.
I wouldn't pay the $400 or $450 Cummins wants now. Like I mentioned, I bought it from the Little Rock Cummins dealer with no special discounts @$350 (minus the Power Club).
I think they are worth having personally.
