Engine Tachometer Issues

My engine tach is reading erratically at idle stays around 11-1200 the shops OBD reader reads 800 at Idle and normal RPM. When accelerator is pushed the tach fluxgates and when driving and I let off the peddle it seems to settle around the correct RPM for a few seconds until accelerator is pressed again.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram showing this? Where is its sensor located? Is it separate system? The engine and trans operate normally so i don’t think its sending control modules the erratic readings.

2004 Monoco Caymen 34PDD, Roadmaster chassie R4R, 300 HP ISB Cummins w/ 5 speed Allison trans.

I would start by wiggling wires with the engine running.
Also check for loose or dirty connections and for tight grounds.
