Hi I need a air filter and found my match on filterbarn.com. They have a cross ref for Fram and Fleetguard. The Fram is 83.00 and the Fleetguard is 103.00. Is Fleetguard worth 20.00 more or should I save 20.00 and get the Fram. Anyone know which one is made in the USA. I will pay 20.00 more for that. Thanks

Go on any Cummins forum for trucks, and they will tell you to avoid the Fram oil filters like the plague. I can't imagine their air filters are much better, but I have never used one. You might try Wix, they make good filters.

you bought a cummins, stay with them. If there is a problem, especially if still under warranty no matter what the problem you are covered. Use an aftermarket filter, and that automatically becomes the reason for failure.

The only thing I will use any kind of Fram on is my little 3 cylinder diesel tractor. I figure with a 25 hour oil change, I'll get what I can and where. My preference for a day to day filter is either a MotorCraft, Purolator or Mobil 1.

Many of the diesels are serviced by Baldwin from what I can find regardless of the name printed on the can/box

Check the prices of Fleetguard at Gaffney, 864 206 8584. They will beat just about any prices.

I dislike Frams as well although their air filter are not nearly as bad as their oil filters.

Napa's gold filters are made to equivalant standards and made by Wix filters.
