Help verifying required Cummins vs. Fleetguard part #

Hello-

I called Freightliner today and they told me I need engine coolant with the part # FGCC2746. None of my local Freightliner shops had the coolant in stock but told me to call a local Cummins shop. The Cummins shop said they "thought" FGCC2746 was their CC2746. Is there any way to verify that these two part numbers are the same?

Thanks!

Your engine that relies on the coolant is a Cummins. I would go with the Cummins recommended coolant and ignore any info from FL!

Have not found a cross reference but this may keep your post alive until someone can help.

What I recommend is to get a signin to the Freightliner web site that gives just about everything relating to your chassis by VIN. the site has recently changed names to DTNACONNECT.COM Great site for your chassis.

Second I would get a signin to quickserve.cummins.com
It will give you complete info on your engine by engine serial number.

They are both a must in my estimation. Good luck

Thanks. Coincidentally, I was messing around on quickserve.cummins.com just now but can't figure out how to find my coolant type : (

Agreed. I called Freightliner, though, because they service my Cummins and are a Cummins authorized repair center.

You will probably find the Freightliner PN on the freightliner site but no reference to Fleet guard equivalent

I think Cummins has about 5 coolants and PNs may refer to how it is formulated. For example Concentrate or premixed. Use what Cummins recommends.

Sorry I can't help more. My problem is my coolant is slowly getting hard to find since I use the straight green stuff my 2 Diesels

I will probably use one of the 5 types Cummins has when I can't get the old stuff anymore.
