High oil pressure

Just picked up my RV from some minor repairs at McCoy Freightliner here in Portland. They brought this issue to my attention and suggested I "keep an eye on it."

ISL 450. Cold engine the oil pressure tops around 83psi. Normal operating temps pressure is 35psi at idle and around 60psi under load. Apparently the spec is 60-70psi with a cold engine (still have to get the book out to verify that). Gauge and ECM match; probably not a sending unit issue.

So this seems like a non-issue to me. If it was up around 90psi I'd be more concerned. It could cause an issue with seals, but other than that is there anything to be concerned about? Dealing with it would be a nightmare. Replace hoses, open the bottom end. I could see spending thousands (or more) trying to get the pressure down.

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Anyone else seen this?

TIA

I would mainly be watchful on a cold startup. I would be sure to use block heater. This is because of the oil being thicker when it is cold. I would idle until coolant temp came up some. I think the main problem would be on a cold day starting the engine oil pressure will be greater and if you increased RPM oil pressure will go higher. Would be possible to blow the rubber o-ring on the oil filter causing lose of engine oil on the ground.

My 1999 ISC engine (47,xxx miles) jumps to 80 psi at startup, warm day or cold day. As the engine warms up pressure drops until the engine is at normal temperature, then idle pressure is about 35 psi and at 1,800 RPM pressure is stays about 60-65 psi.
I would not be concerned about what the gauge says as long at it shows above 30 psi at idle when hot/ normal operating temperature.

High oil pressure

You need a new shop. They don’t know what they’re talking about.

Those are the exact same numbers I’ve seen on our 400 hp ISL for 101,000 miles over 12 years. I use Silverleaf, so I know the numbers are accurate.

You don't have high oil pressure, if you had 128psi at startup cold like I had then I would say yes high.
I had to replace my oil pump now it's back to factory specifications 87psi cold, readings off my Silverleaf.
When it gets cold I plug it in.
